How you can help — today

Every action matters. Here are four concrete ways to move this campaign forward.

New to this campaign? Learn what we're asking for — a Level 2 Pedestrian Crossover or Intersection Pedestrian Signal — and why.

File a 311 request

The single most effective action you can take

Pre-written request text

Copy this text and paste it into your 311 request:

Requesting a pedestrian crossing (Level 2 PXO or Intersection Pedestrian Signal) at Dundas Street East and Dagmar Avenue. The intersection lacks protected crossing infrastructure despite being on a wide arterial road with documented pedestrian KSI history within 1km. Please initiate a warrant study and forward to Transportation Services.

What to expect

  • 1.You'll receive a service request number immediately
  • 2.Transportation Services reviews within 15 business days
  • 3.You may receive a follow-up email or letter with their assessment

Why this works

The City tracks 311 requests by location. When they see repeated, consistent requests for the same intersection, it signals community priority and can accelerate the warrant study timeline.

What is Toronto and East York Community Council?

TEYCC is the local committee that reviews neighbourhood issues before they go to full City Council. Members of the public can register to "depute" — speak for up to 5 minutes — on agenda items affecting their area.

Next meeting: TBD

Know someone who lives near Dagmar? Forward them this template:

Hi [Name],

Have you heard about the campaign for a pedestrian crossing at Dundas & Dagmar? 32 pedestrians have been seriously injured or killed within 1km of that intersection since 2006.

The City is accepting requests for a safety study. If you have 2 minutes, you can file a 311 request here: dundaseast.ca/take-action

Thanks,
